Our Commitment to Tithing

Unity of Gainesville Church is committed to tithing 10% of all receipts to those places where our ministry has been spiritually fed. This may include individuals, organizations, churches or groups.  Some examples of where our tithes are given:
  • Silent Unity
  • Unity Southeast Region
  • Unity Worldwide Ministries

Some Information about Tithing

Tithe: The word tithe means a tenth. To tithe is to give 10% of all we receive to a person, place or institution from which we have received spiritual nourishment.  When discussing tithing, we sometimes are asked about giving to charity.  We do not give to charitable organizations in place of a tithe. We give to God first, tithing to where we are spiritually nourished.  Then, additionally, we give to the charitable organizations we choose to support.

Spiritual Nourishment: Spiritual nourishment is what feeds us, inspires us and affirms the Truth of who we are, divine creations of God.

We Tithe Because...

  • Tithing reminds us to put God first.
  • Tithing establishes order in our lives and in the life of our ministry.
  • Tithing expands our prosperity.
  • Tithing enables us to bless others through the divine work of God.
  • Tithing is an act of worship.
  • We tithe not because we “have to” but because we want to.  We give in love because we love to give.
