Prayer is often explained as talking to God. It is that, but it is much more. Prayer is our way of acknowledging who He is, expressing admiration, explaining frustrations, admitting our sins (errors), asking for direction, seeking wisdom, speaking of love, and so much more. Prayer is not God’s children trying to tell God what to do; it is seeking what God would have us do.
"Prayer . . . is essentially the refusal to be rushed by panic or by the existing current of things. In prayer, you must draw back from the outer picture, cease to press against events, and realize the Presence of God. The door of the soul opens inward." - Emmet Fox
Prayer for Protection
By James Dillet Freeman
The light of God surrounds us;
The love of God enfolds us;
The power of God protects us;
The presence of God watches over us;
Wherever we are, God is!
Unity of Gainesville, in the tradition of the Unity movement, is a House of Prayer - engaging with all people in a consciousness of prayer and awareness that God is the source of all and is through all.
As a House of Prayer, the church embraces all avenues of prayer that include individual, silent, and group prayer. The prayer experience provides opportunities for a deepened individual prayer life, one-on-one prayer, group prayer circles, as well as prayer chains that behold the ever-presence (Omnipresence) of God in the midst of various life circumstances and experiences.

Affirmations are positive statements of Truth. Each time we pray affirmatively, we are lifted into a consciousness of Oneness, calling forth the divine activity within us.
Inner Peace: The peace of God enfolds me. I am serene.
Guidance: True answers are revealed as I quiet my mind and open my heart.
Healing: I activate the healing power of Divine Love.
Prosperity: The spiritual ether is filled with plenty. I am prosperous!
World Peace: One Love shines within us all.
