The Unity of Gainesville Rose Prayer Centre (of the Congregational Care & Prayer Ministry) is composed of Spirit-minded individuals who have volunteered to hold the sacred space of prayer for everyone who requests it for themselves or others.
The Prayer Chest and Prayer Request forms are located in the back of the sanctuary. Prayer requests placed in the Prayer Chest are held in confidence and prayed over by our dedicated Care & Prayer Ministry members for 30 days; then are sent to Silent Unity for another 30 days of prayer. All prayer requests are confidential.
You may also use our convenient Prayer Request or Answered Prayer forms on this website.
Prayer Partners are always available to pray with you on Sundays. Please see one in the back of the sanctuary 30 minutes BEFORE or AFTER the Sunday service.
There is no training, no structure, no requirements involved to be a volunteer. Anyone can be on the prayer chain regardless of church membership or attendance. Volunteers simply include these prayer requests in their regular prayer time in the way that is most meaningful to them.
Urgent prayer requests are received through emails and/or phone calls to the church office or to one of the coordinators. Urgent requests are sent out via email within 24 hours, and Silent Unity is called to enroll them in prayer immediately. The telephone chain is started, involving several volunteers who do not use email.
Greeting cards for birthdays, get well, bereavement, and other appropriate situations are sent. There is also a team who send letters of prayer support when requested. The Ministry has generated a bank of sample letters, available in printed or electronic form, which can be copied, dated and personalized. The letters are printed on beautiful e stationary and mailed via U.S. mail. Email letters are also sent when requested. Those who are willing to join the letter-writing service will be supplied with everything needed to get started. Several of our letter writer volunteers have moved on recently. We are holding the high watch, inviting the next volunteers to step up. Is Spirit calling YOU?
Volunteering with any aspect of the Congregational Care & Prayer Ministry is open to anyone at any time. Just let one of the team know your desire and you can get started right away.
