Memorial Service for Marjorie Sorokowski ~ December 17, 2021
Held at Unity of Gainesville church.

Obituary
1924-2021


Marjorie was born and raised in Miami, Florida, where she attended Miami High and soon after graduating, she met her husband Andy, who was a trumpet player in the Navy Band.  
Together, they opened bakeries in various Miami locations, the last being the very successful Sunrise Pastry in Coral Gables, Florida.
In 1977, Marjorie and Andy moved to Vero Beach and opened another Bakery, after which they retired to Wynmore in Pompano Beach, Florida.
While in Wynmore, Andy passed away.

Marjorie was affiliated with Unity Church and subsequently became a licensed Unity Teacher, a connection she kept when she moved to Gainesville to live with her sister Barbara Schollenberger.

She is survived by her son, Wayne and his wife, Wendy, her grandchildren David, Tani and Jennifer and their spouses. She leaves behind 3 great grandchildren, Justin, Connor, and Brady, 2 step great grandchildren Janet and Kimberly, 2 step great great grandchildren, Hunter and Dylan, and her dear friends at Unity Church at Gainesville.

Marjorie will be missed, never forgotten, and loved always. Services will be held on Friday, December 17, 2021, at Unity Church of Gainesville, 8801 N.W. 39th Ave.

In lieu of flowers, charitable donations to the following would be gratefully accepted: The Village at Gainesville, Unity of Gainesville and Haven ET York Hospice Care Center, Gainesville, Florida.
