Church Maintenance &  Beautification

Dear Beloved Congregants and Friends of Unity,
   Thanks go out to many who have contributed their time, talent, and treasure for repairing, improving and beautifying our church building and grounds. 
  There is much to do in the year ahead.  Please consider a designated contribution for improvements listed below.

PROJECTS AHEAD:​​
  • Painting the sanctuary’s walls and ceiling is estimated at $1500 to $2000. The  cost of the paint and an additional $750 has been raised. Our outstanding total is $2700-$3250.    
  • Roof - replace
  • Air conditioner units - replace all four
  • Sound system - upgrade
  • Front yard sign - upgrade
  • Painting interior - classrooms
  • Floor - replace floor coverings (tile/carpet)
  • Trees - remove trees with overgrown roots warping asphalt of parking lot 
  • Parking lot - repair cracks and warping asphalt due to tree roots; repaint parking space lines
  • Grounds - repair soil erosion near deck
  • Memorial Garden for Ann Coleman - complete
  • Playground - obtain adequate, secure fencing and pressure wash equipment
  • Labyrinth - clear overgrowth; repaint stones
PROJECTS COMPLETED:
  • One new a/c unit installed (March 2021)
  • Exit sign lights & batteries brought up to building codes and  passed inspection (August 2021)
  • ​Fire extinguishers upgraded (Sept 2021)
  • New camera installed in sanctuary for live-streaming services on Zoom and Facebook (January 2022)
  • ​Funds received to repair Golf Cart (Feb. 2022)
  • Improved microphones obtained (Feb. 2022)
  • Deck was pressure washed (at Mar. 19, 2022 work party)
  • ​Deck was primed & painted before Easter 2022 by Jane Roy
  • ​Gathering Room was painted by Jane Roy (June 2022)
  • Handrail installed for easier access to stage in sanctuary (July 2022) by Paul Leiss.  It was located online by Jacque Tatum and Barbara Gordon and financed by Barbara.
